Peruvian Whistling Vessels

For hundreds of years strange vessels were found in graves in Peru, these vessels were mistakenly assumed to be some sort of drinking vessel. In the 1970’s an american engineer called Daniel Statenkov purchased one of these vessels at an auction and was curious about their use. He brought his purchase to a museum which held a collection of these vessels and he discovered that when 2 or more were played simultaneously they generated a resonating frequency ( a pulsing vibration) which brings about an altered state of consciousness. Daniel spent 15 years researching and recreating sets of these Whistling Vessels and in doing so re awakened the lost knowledge of these ancient shamanic instruments.

The set of seven vessels that I am the keeper of is one of the sets made by Daniel Statenkov, each one psychoacoustically tuned to very specific frequencies.

The variations in colour in the clay is caused by the inclusion of ash from sacred herbs and plants sent from Ireland before these whistles were produced.
